Constituents: K = volatile oil, starch, protein, alkaloids = piperine, piperlongumine, methyl-3,4,5-trimethoxycinnamate, saponins, carbohydrates, amygdalin; fruit have sesamin, a lignan dihydrostimasterol, piperine; seeds have sylvatine, sesamin, dieudesmin, fatty acids = palmitic, hexadecenoic, stearic, linoleic, oleic, linolenic, higher saturataed acids, arachidic, and behenic acids; leaves have hentriacontane, hentriacontane-16-one, tricontanol, and beta-sitosterol; calcium, phosphorus, iron are present also.
